NHLI Alumnae Paying it Forward
As part of her leadership project, 2009 Executive Leadership Program graduate, Michelle Minguez-Moore, Executive Director of the Latino Leaders Network, organized the Pay it Forward campaign to encourage more NHLI alumnae to raise much needed resources to support Latina leadership development.
“This campaign is a way for graduates of the program to give back to NHLI, an organization that gave us the tools to be better leaders and expand our network,” said Michelle.
“The goal is to have as many of the more than 600 alumnae commit to raising, or donating a $1,000 each year. These tough economic times make it more imperative to join together to provide NHLI with the resources to continue to build our future Latina leaders,” she added.
In 2009, the Pay it Forward Campaign generated nearly $50,000 in alumnae contributions.
Through Pay it Forward donations, NHLI has been able to support its Executive Leadership Program and provide scholarships to Latinas Learning to Lead. With Michelle’s dedication to the campaign and outreach, Pay it Forward was essential last year to galvanize NHLI graduates during a tough economic time.
