Verizon released its Verizon’s 2008/2009 Corporate Responsibility Report, which provides a detailed account of how the company is using technology to drive positive change in communications across the nation and help solve big issues.
A few highlights include:
- Helping customers ""go green" by providing services that allow them to replace business travel with videoconferencing and telecommuting. A bigger payoff will come as broadband technology becomes part of a new "smart" infrastructure for our country, helping to regulate traffic, use energy efficiently and improve public safety.
- Promoting Internet safety: by providing the best network tools to ensure security and by informing people — especially parents — how to make safer choices when they go online.
