NHLI would like to thank its departing Board members Olga Garcia, Director, Diversity Recruitment for Coors Brewing Company; Victoria Varela Negrete, CEO and Strategic Director for The Cartel Group; and Stafford Mays, Director of Outreach for Microsoft for their outstanding leadership, dedication and service to NHLI. The NHLI Board of Directors presented a plaque to them during the March meeting. They have all been part of NHLI’s transformation over the last six years and we thank them for their leadership in serving as Board Members.

Please help us welcome newly elected Board Members: Carmen Bauza, Division Merchandise Manager, Vice President for Wal-Mart, and Peter Villegas, First Vice President Emerging Markets and National Manager of Community & External Affairs at WaMu.

Carmen Bauza’s background includes General Merchandise Manager for Bath & Body Works and over ten years with the Walt Disney Company Theme Parks Division in various roles and responsibilities. Carmen has also served in other organizations such as Hispanic Endowment Fund and U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Carmen has a personal interest in developing future Latina leaders today.

As First Vice President, Emerging Markets and National Manager of Community & External Affairs, Peter Villegas manages all national partnerships and strategic alliances as well as reinforcing leadership positions in key geographic and ethnic markets worldwide. Peter has served on various national boards and is listed by the Orange County Business Journal as one of the most influential Hispanics.
