Executive Program
The
National Hispana Leadership Institute has developed a four-week intensive leadership
training program which spans nine months and is implemented in four different
cities in the United States. The first session is held in California and focuses
on community building, support networks, diversity and cross cultural communication.
The second session is held at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard
University, and the third training is held at the Center for Creative Leadership.
The final session, in Washington, D.C.,explores the national political agenda
with emphasis on policy development, the legislative process and meetings with
congressional representatives. In addition, each participant mentors two Hispanic
women for at least two years and develops a leadership project that will benefit
a minimum of 25 young Latina youth and/or women. To date, over 400 Hispanas have
completed the program.
